SUMMARY:PHTLS 10E 2 Day Provider Course
DESCRIPTION:NAEMT’s Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) is recognized
  around the world as the leading continuing education program for prehospit
 al emergency trauma care. The mission of PHTLS is to promote excellence
  in trauma patient management by all providers involved in the delivery of 
 prehospital care. PHTLS is developed by NAEMT in cooperation with the Ame
 rican College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma. The Committee provides th
 e medical direction and content oversight for the PHTLS program. \nPHTLS c
 ourses improve the quality of trauma care and decrease mortality. The progr
 am is based on a philosophy stressing the treatment of the multi-system tra
 uma patient as a unique entity with specific needs. PHTLS promotes critical
  thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. It is based on the 
 belief that\, given a good fund of knowledge and key principles\, EMS pract
 itioners are capable of making reasoned decisions regarding patient care.\
 nThe course utilizes the internationally recognized PHTLS textbook and cove
 rs the following topics:\n\nPhysiology of life and death\nScene assessment\
 nPatient assessment\nHemorrhage control\nAirway\nBreathing\, ventilation\, 
 and oxygenation\nCirculation and shock\nSpecial populations\n\nThe course e
 mphasizes application of trauma education through case studies\, skills pra
 ctice\, and patient simulations.\nPHTLS is the global gold standard in preh
 ospital trauma education and is taught in over 80 countries. PHTLS is appro
 priate for EMTs\, paramedics\, nurses\, physician assistants\, physicians\,
  and other prehospital practitioners. PHTLS is accredited by CAPCE and reco
 gnized by NREMT.\nThis is a 2 day initial course 9/12/26 - 9/13/26 from 8a 
 – 5p.
